Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the pulpit not preaching the truth, and the market driven church changing the whole church dynamic, not so much the doctrine of what is preached, but how do we do church, what activities do we have? With regards to preaching, more often then not, preachers will preach a topical message; that is, a subject that is on the minds of the people, preaching on the issues at hand, like the pandemic, politics, and rhetoric. The panel agrees that fewer and fewer people are hearing direct preaching from the bible. Many preachers are addressing grace, but are failing to address sin. Believers need to get into the Word of God for themselves and ask the Holy Spirit to be their teacher and guide them to a church that preaches truth strictly from God’s Word.
