The just shall live by faith. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss Romans 1:17, and how the Cross must be the object of our faith. Brother Swaggart reminds us that this is not talking about salvation, although we have to have salvation, i.e., faith to be saved. But verse seventeen, is dealing with living for God on a daily basis. It does not mean die; it means to live, and to live for God properly. If the believer is living in sin, he is not putting the Holy Spirit in His proper place, or the Cross of Christ in its proper place. There’s nothing greater than accepting that Jesus died to save our soul, but that’s where most Christians stop. It’s all they know and understand. To have a victorious Christian life, the believer must also know that what Jesus did on the Cross provides for our life and living every day until we make glory.
