No willpower of man can defeat the power of original sin. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 6:1-13 discussing how the Holy Spirit leads the believer to live a victorious Christian life. In salvation, we have both justification and sanctification; not only are we cleansed of our sin, but God also frees us from the power of sin. As believers, we are to be crucified with Christ, and then sin must not reign because we yield ourselves unto God, showing our dependence on Him. When we believe correctly, and solely, on the finished work of Christ, the Holy Spirit will work out this sanctification that we’ve already received at salvation.
