Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Daniel 9:27. In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans. This vision was seen about a year after the one in Daniel Chapter eight. The unique glory of this chapter and of this prophecy is that this alone foretold the time of the Messiah’s appearing and the very year of His crucifixion. This chapter details Daniel’s third vision: the seventy weeks of years, 490 years and their application to Israel. The Lord will show the great prophet some phenomenal things. He will show him first of all, of the time that they are to leave the Empire of the Medes and the Persians and go back to Jerusalem, then he will show Daniel of the time of the coming of Christ, and His crucifixion.
