Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how sin can take occasion by the commandments. Reading Romans 7:11, the panel explains the teachings of the Apostle Paul on the sin nature. The sin nature that is made dormant at salvation can result in the believer’s life again, rising up when one sets out to please God in another way other than faith in His finished work of Christ. Trying to live under any law will result in unrighteousness. We must not place our faith in what we do; for if we do, we extract our life and living from the power of God. This is an offense to God. Just as we we received Christ at the Cross, so must we walk out this Christian life. Nothing in my hand I bring, only to the Cross I cling.
