Sin can only be overcome at the Cross. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 7:11, discussing God’s way. The commandment was designed to agitate the sin nature and bring sin to the fore. We cannot obey the Lord in every respect with our own self will and law keeping. We will fail in this fashion, just like the Apostle Paul discovered. At the Cross, Jesus atoned for all sin, past, present, and future for those who will only believe. We must anchor our faith, and maintain it in the finished work of Cross if we are to discover victory over sin. With constant, steadied faith in Him, the Holy Spirit will work on our behalf.
