Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the importance of confession of sin in a believer’s life. Brother Larson says if we don’t, we will live under a sense of guilt or under false security. This is not putting law on the believer, as principles of correct living should be preached. The grace of God is big enough to forgive past, present, and future sin; believers will sin in our lifetime because the sin nature never leaves, even at salvation. Brother Smith says scripture tells us, if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. God accepts us by faith; we have an assurance of that, and then we will grow in the image of Christ. When man doesn’t address the sin in their life, conviction of the Holy Spirit will come and then if there is no repentance condemnation often times will attack our faith. God’s grace is wonderful, and we all must know it. Grace brings Salvation and teaches us that denying unglodliness and worldly lusts, is what God desires; that we live soberly and righteously. (Titus 2:11-12)
