The Law of Moses was designed to show man he is unrighteous, and the law could not eradicate sin. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 7:12-13 and Hebrews 8:6-7 discussing the better Covenant man has in Christ Jesus. Man was not capable of doing all the law all of the time, and when we realize we are dead to the law we are then found alive unto Christ. Man is not to live by the law or any self-made works, but only by faith and the Spirit, who operates in the finished work of Christ. Brother Swaggart says, when Jesus died on the Cross, it was retroactive. It went back, just as far as it goes forward. When one believes on Christ alone, man’s sin has been taken care of. John the Baptist said, behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.
