In Christ Jesus, the believer is freed from the character of the sin nature. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 7:7 discussing all the benefits we have when we say yes to Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our life. The sin nature doesn’t leave the believer, but is made ineffective in a life, as long as the believer keeps their faith anchored in the finished work of Christ. The works of self, church rituals, and just good behavior will not free man from the dominion of sin that comes into all man because of the fall of Adam in the garden. The Apostle Paul teaches strongly how to have freedom from this corrupting force of sin, and how there is a renewal process we all go through. At salvation, we are justified and sanctified, and with anchored faith in Christ, we will see the Holy Spirit work on our behalf to grow us into the victory that was already won on our behalf on the Cross.
