Today on A Study in The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 8:16 discussing the proper way believers are to get victory over sin. All too often, many who come to the Lord, and repent of their sins, think that is all that needs to be done and their sins will never again give them trouble. The panel explains how repentance isn’t always deliverance. There are many Christians who love God, but because they weren’t delivered of certain sins right away, at salvation, they continue to think that they can beat their sin with self-efforts and works. Brother John reminds us, that we cannot deliver ourselves. Believing on the finished work of Christ will allow the Holy Spirit to do what needs to be done and one day that thing that besets you will be gone for good.
