Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel explain the regeneration that happens when a person is born again. Often times, the believer doesn’t realize the fullness of what happens at salvation. The panel discusses Pentecostalism and the second subsequent work of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues. Brother Larson says reading John chapters 14, 15, and 16 shows us all that happens at salvation, while in the Book of Acts, we see the Age of the Spirit ushered in with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Brother Larson shares how one is the power for living, and the other gives the power for service. They are meant to work together in life, not to be separated as they are in many church circles today. The power of the Holy Spirit comes in at salvation to lead us to living holy and right, and then the baptism can take place when a person asks to receive this second gift. What activates both is faith in Christ and the Cross. In the last 100 years, some 500-million people have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
