Are Jews better than Gentiles? Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 3:9. What then are we better than they? No, in no wise; for we have before proved, both Jews and Gentiles that they are all under sin. Here Paul is proving that both, whether Jew or Gentile, are in need of salvation. The human race, without God, is lost. We are separated from God, and these verses are punches that would knock the religious spirit out of all men and women, Jew or Gentile. Paul is declaring that the Jews certainly had an advantage in that they received the knowledge of God’s Word in written form first. Gentiles had it in the sense of conscious, but both should have taken or realized from their revelation whether it is conscious or written Word, that they need a Savior.
