Today on A Study In The Word, the panel discusses John 14:26, and how the Holy Spirit is the overseer of the benefits of the New Covenant. Jesus said, I will send a helper; but the emphasis here is usually on the teaching of all things; but the panel says read on, to also, BRING ALL things. Brother Loren Larson reminds the Holy Spirit’s presence is contingent upon our faith in Christ and what He did at Calvary. Brother Dave Smith encourages us to how the Holy Sprit will sit right beside us to show us what we need to know. Brother Swaggart reflects on Matthew 16:21, where he believes the disciples probably understood only a little of what Jesus was telling them. In John 6:54-66, Brother Bob Cornell reflects on how so many at that time didn’t understand; but their limited knowledge kept them with Jesus up to the Crucifixion. Point being, while they didn’t understand it all, they believed; which is what the Lord wants from believers today.
