Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Daniel 9:3; and I set my face unto the Lord God to seek by prayer and supplications with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes. Daniel was seeking God for the deliverance of Israel from this seventy year captivity as was promised by the Lord. His prayer was based upon the Books, i.e. the Bible. I set my face unto the Lord in prayer and supplication is the solution for all of mankind. Daniel is taking the burden of Israel upon his own person, recognizing that he himself does not qualify for God’s mercy, but yet, he believes that God is a God who will respond. Brother Swaggart says this is really the only hope for the church if we are to see the harvest of souls that we’re believing God for.
