A GREAT EXCHANGE- Judgment, a Savior, and glory. Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Shaun Murphy reads Isaiah 61:1-7 teaching on the judgment of God. When the children of Israel were falling away in sin and idolatry, Isaiah proclaimed their judgment to come, being cast into Babylon into exile. But there will be a suffering servant who will redeem you, a guilt offering given in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, when Jesus comes on the scene, in the Book of Luke we see He is pushed into the wilderness after He’s baptized, He goes into the synagogue, opens up the scroll of Isaiah, and pronounces, the future glory is here. The one who’s going to cast you into judgment for sin, but will redeem you through His own blood; He is here.
