IDENTIFIED WITH JESUS’ FINISHED WORK- Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Paris Ragan preaches from Romans 6:8-11 and Mark 10:38-39. In Israel of that day, there were many different thoughts about how the Messiah was going to come, and how He was going to restore Israel and give her freedom from her oppressors. Almost no one thought Christ was going to have to die in order to get that done. Jesus said if you are going to be my disciples you’re going to have to deny yourself and take up your Cross, and follow Me. When Jesus taught His disciples, the first time He predicts His death, He tells them, they will have to lose their lives in order to gain life. This is regarding being crucified with Christ. A second time, He predicts His death again and the disciples argue about who is going to be greatest in the kingdom. Pastor Paris explains this hard lesson on discipleship, even from the greatest teacher, Jesus Christ. We must know who we are in Christ.
