THE MISSIONARY CALL FOR ALL BELIEVERS- While the Cross has saved us from our sin, it also saves us to something. Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart welcomes Pastor Caleb Berg from New York. Brother Berg says a church without mission is no longer a church. The church is mission. The love of God must flow out of all believers, as it is behind all that we do. In Luke 24:36-49, three days after His crucifixion, Jesus appears to His disciples; they can’t believe what they are seeing. Here Jesus has understanding toward the disciples; Pastor Berg says Jesus brings peace, and asked why do you struggle, don’t you remember? Jesus is opening the disciples eyes to what He has already taught them. Pastor Berg says as we read the Word of God, we need the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to understanding. Only He can reveal to our hearts the meaning of the Gospel. The Cross of Christ has always been The Way given in the bible from the Old Testament to the New. The Gospel message is repentance of sin to life in Christ; so what is the Gospel Mission? Pastor Berg answers, mission leads us to how God is calling us to live, and that the Gospel is not just about me getting saved. Our entire lives must be lived through the lens of what Christ did on Calvary’s Cross.
