MATCHING OUR CHARACTER WITH OUR FAITH— Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart, preaches from Galatians 5:22-23; here Paul is dealing with the fruit of the Spirit, but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, those three are upward, love, joy, peace. They’re upward. Long-suffering, gentleness, and goodness is outward. Faith, meekness, and temperance is inward. So you have 9 fruit of the spirit, 3 sections divided to where they deal with every aspect of the individual, the Christian. Upward, outward, inward. Pastor Gabe teaches how there has to be a relationship upward, vertically, and there needs to be relationship, horizontally. He says before there can be a relationship horizontal, you first have to establish that relationship vertically. There must be a change on the inside. Our change on the inside comes through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, as our faith is anchored in the finished work of Christ. This then will show itself outwardly; and while that is being shown outward to others, there is a work going on silently on the inside of every believer that no one else can see. The great news about that is, we know God is in us working on our behalf.
