JESUS THE SAVIOR-THE SON OF GOD- Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Paris Ragan preaches from Mark 1:1-13 as he walks us through these writings and the emphasis the Holy Spirit puts on Mark’s heart. We see Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God. He obediently suffers as a servant to pay the ransom for sin; this is a model of suffering and sacrifice for his disciples to follow. This is the story that Mark is trying to tell. This is who Jesus is. He’s the Messiah. He’s the savior. He’s the king. He’s the son of God; but how He accomplishes His Messianic work, His saving work, is outside of what everyone expected. He overcame Satan, He overcame sin, and He overcame the powers of darkness. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is life-changing good news. When people hear it, their hearts are moved. When they allow it to come in, and by faith believe it, it changes them forever.
