CALL TO REPENTANCE AND RENEWAL- Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Jimmy Dupree reads Nehemiah 8:10, discussing what it takes to see a joyful move of God. Setting the stage of renewal, we find Nehemiah rebuilding the Temple walls in Jerusalem that had been destroyed. Ezra, the priest, is found reading the law from sun up till noonday, while the people listened and praised God. Ezra had a love for God’s Word, His law, and His righteousness. The people had turned from their sin, and turned back to God. Zerubbabel, Governor of Judaea, was treated well in Babylon, but God stirred his heart to leave his comforts behind. All three of these men were God called, and responded to the call with compassion, interceding for the people, and associating with those who wanted to do God’s will. Brother Dupree says this is to be our response to the call of God on our lives today. We are to seek Him, reach the lost, and help those in need. Nehemiah faced criticism and jealousy; any time we do something for God there, will be opposition. Like the Temple, the church needs rebuilding today. Can our faith withstand the test, and time, as it was then? God will lead His faithful people. Are we willing to let God use us to build His kingdom?
