Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel address a lawsuit against Fuller Theological Seminary by a lesbian student who was expelled after three years; apparently the student was not a lesbian when she started at Fuller. She had received federal funding for her tuition. Brother John Rosenstern explains the protection of Title IX of the education amendment of 1972, as it applies to sex discrimination. The panel discusses the difference between sex/gender discrimination verses lifestyle. The panel says lifestyle should not be protected by laws that are clearly for sex/gender, male verses female protection. Brother John Rosenstern says the lawsuit could be paramount for future suits. Brother Donnie adds, the student should know the school’s bylaws and what rules they must follow if they attend that institution. Brother Donnie says, let this be a warning; all churches need to meet with a lawyer to go over their church's constitutional bylaws in preparation for this very thing.
