What can wash away my sin, nothing but THE BLOOD of JESUS. Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss water baptism. Water Baptism is an acknowledgment of the repentance that already took place in a sinner’s heart. It’s an outward show of what has happened on the inside when we give our lives to Christ. In Matthew 3:11, John the Baptist is speaking, I baptize you with water, unto repentance; the Greek indicates it’s a follow up. In 1 Peter 3:21, the like figure, also now saves us; in the Greek, this refers to the word water, and a like figure or counterpart meaning a representative of our salvation, a testimony. Water baptism represents the death, burial and resurrection of Christ; going under the water and being raised in new life, coming out of the water. Brother Donnie says if you are trusting in water baptism for your salvation, you need to be dunking yourself every single day. Brother Smith says there are so many more scriptures like 1 John 5:12-13, saying he who BELIEVES will have eternal life. The panel discusses spiritual adultery and how we are to be espoused to Christ and Him alone. We are all flawed vessels, and are not worthy; but we are made worthy by the blood of Jesus, by His grace and mercy.
