BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT- Today on The Generation of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC Professor Dave Watts reading Ephesians 5:18-21 discussing how the believer is to respond to the initial filling of the Holy Spirit. At salvation, we are regenerated, and the Holy Spirit comes into our lives, working in us. We must relinquish our control, and let the Spirit of God control us. Then the second subsequent work of the Spirit is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. One of the biggest barriers to people receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit is not letting go of control of our mind and our tongue. This is not a work, but it’s a conscious decision. I’m going to allow myself to be controlled by the Spirit of God, and let him move, and listen to His voice.
