SPIRITUAL WARFARE- Today on The Generation Of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by Evangelist David Borg as they discuss the biblical principles of prayer. Looking at the prayer pattern that Jesus gives us in the Lord’s Prayer, Brother Borg says he refers to it as the New Covenant prayer pattern because when we pray according to that pattern it helps us to maintain our faith in the New Covenant; that being, in Christ and what he came to do on the cross. At every point in this prayer pattern there are New Covenant implications, so when we pray according to this pattern, we are preaching the New Covenant to ourselves. When we pray this way, there is a witness of the Holy Spirit in it. Brother Borg says this is how he learned to understand the Cross of Christ and the victory the finished work provides.
