They discuss the prophecy given by an angel to Zechariah and Elizabeth announcing the birth of John the Baptist. This came, at the end of 400 years that went without a word from God. This barren time is a sign, and marked by the barrenness of Elizabeth’s womb. This was a message to the nation of Israel about her barren, spiritual state. John the Baptist was prophesied to come and prepare the way of the Lord.
