Today on Insight, John and Josh Rosenstern discuss a recent Senate vote on an equal right’s amendment to the U.S. constitution. The amendment was first proposed in 1923, and was approved by Congress in 1972, but to officially become an amendment to the constitution 38 of the 50 states have to approve it. The year 1982 was set as a deadline for ratification; but because it has not passed, it continues to remain alive. Brother Josh says the amendment is surfacing because of the recent overturning of Roe Vs. Wade. The amendment addresses equal rights, under the law, within any state.
