SLAVES WE WERE, AND SLAVES WE ARE— Tonight Pastor Paris Ragan preaches how God had called Hosea to marry a harlot named Gomer. He married her and he loved her, but she went back into her sinful lifestyle and ended up on the auction block, and Hosea sold everything to buy her back. Brother Ragan says this is our story. We are married to sin, but Jesus Christ bankrupt heaven to free us from the dominion of sin. In Romans 6:15-20, the Apostle Paul addresses sin and how we can find liberty in what was suppose to be our curse. In union with Jesus Christ, we are made free from the hold sin has on us. We are no longer under the law, but under grace which delivers us from the sin nature. Grace is God’s goodness given to us at salvation; but it’s that, and so much more. It’s the power of God leading us to live under His authority; we were once a slave to sin, and now we are a slave to righteousness.
