WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT DIVORCE- Today at Family Worship Center, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart continues his series on marriage and divorce reading in Matthew chapters 5 and 19 and Deuteronomy 24. Jesus was asked, is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? Marriage is meant for life; for God, is not about divorce. Fornication/adultery and abandonment are the two reasons that can result in the breaking of the commitment of marriage biblically, and Pastor Gabe adds, abuse often falls into the category of abandonment. Otherwise, two people who are born again and filled with the Holy Spirit should never have irreconcilable differences. As Christians, we should know that by faith, we can seek Him to fix all our marital issues. For what God has put together, let no demon or devil pull apart. God can restore what He has put together.
