THE CHARACTER OF A CHRISTIAN- Today at Family Worship Center, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart reads Matthew 5:1-12 teaching on the Beatitudes. In Christ’s Sermon on the Mount, He teaches the dependence we must have on God. When there is a misunderstanding of the atonement, sin, and what Christian joy looks like then we will live a shallow non-effective Christian life. When we understand Christ crucified, and what He is teaching us here that we are bankrupt without Him, i.e., poor in Spirit; then, we can apply our understanding by faith and watch everything change in our lives. When our sin makes us mournful, and repentance comes, the Holy Spirit will bring us comfort. In meekness, when we hunger and thirst for His righteousness, we will be filled; by faith in Him alone, we will live a life pleasing to God.
