NO RESPECT- Today at Family Worship Center, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart reads Genesis 4:4-5 discussing what Cain and Abel knew about bringing the correct sacrifice to the Lord. Cain wanted the work of his hands to be accepted and respected by God, but only the blood of the lamb was the correct offering, that, which Abel obeyed, and God respected. This typology pointed to the Lamb of God who would come and take away the sins of the world. Brother Swaggart says too often millions are being taught in churches today to bring the work of their hands to the Lord; will God respect these churches, or will He say "no respect" to what is being offered? Only faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ can be accepted by God. Just as the Old Covenant sacrifice had to be free of imperfections, in the New Covenant, the perfect life of Jesus Christ is the only accepted sacrifice. Believing on the blood of Jesus is the only way to eternal life; when I see the blood, I will pass over you.
