Can the seal of the Holy Spirit be broken? Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how the Holy Spirit seals the believer. His entrance is a down payment of what is to come in a born again life. We are identified by changes internally and externally and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. If a believer loses faith in Christ, then they have the potential of losing their seal. Sin will not separate us from God; for no believer is perfect, and justification allows the Spirit of God to continue to work in us. But if a person turns their back on the Lord, and backslides into a life of continued sin, then in time, the believer could find themselves no longer having faith in Christ. Brother Swaggart says a saved person who sins should have conviction in their heart to repent to their Heavenly Father.
