Today on The Message In The Christ, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss how the believer abides in Christ. Our faith in Christ’s finished work brings salvation, which starts the process of the believer being changed by the power of the Holy Spirit; we must stay in this parameter where the Holy Spirit works. Brother Larson says, all too often, the believer will step outside of the sphere where the Spirit works in our lives trying to work out sanctification on our own. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death. The Apostle Paul preached the New Covenant to the early Christians who were trying to hang on to the law of Judaism, this is similar to what we see in the lives of believers today trying to apply good works to address the sin in their lives; only the power of the Holy Spirit can change us into the image of Christ.
