The Old Covenant depended upon the willpower of the people; now, we have a New Covenant that finds us dependent on the finished work of Christ alone. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 4:21-22 discussing spiritual adultery and how it makes us a slave to sin. The Apostle Paul was teaching the Galatian believers what they now have in Christ. Pastor Ragan says the Law was never meant to produce righteousness, but it was to identify man’s sin and point man beyond the Law, and make us aware of our need. Only the sacrifice of the Lamb of God on the Cross could atone for the sin of all mankind.
