It is an everlasting covenant that cannot be broken. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the greater demand under the New Covenant. It is a rest, trust, and dependence on Christ and Him alone. We don’t live for God in our own strength. We cannot add to what Christ has already done. At salvation, we have His imputed righteouness; the Holy Spirit then will perform His righteousness in our Christian walk. This is our power source. The believer’s responsibility is to rest. We are obedient by placing our faith in His finished work. We must believe the gospel if we want to live Holy.
