Forgiveness is not deliverance. Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Ephesians 4:1, explaining the meaning of making Christ and the Cross the object of our faith. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus will set us free from the law of sin and death. What Christ did at Calvary’s Cross is where our faith must stay. At salvation, we are forgiven when we repent of our sin, and believe on Christ alone. Now, we must stay in this position, resting in Him alone, then the Holy Spirit will work on our behalf and bring our condition up to our position in Christ. The sanctification process is at work because of our faith in Christ. This is where we are to stay; it is believing, not doing. He did it all; on the Cross, Jesus said, it is finished.
