Today on The Message Of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 6:6, discussing giving and serving as according to the Word of God. The panel agrees that God provides all our needs, and lays it on the believer’s heart to tithe to His work, keeping the gospel going forth. Scripture says, he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully, for God loves a cheerful giver. The Apostle Paul was raising money for the situation in Jerusalem where the new converts were being persecuted as thousands had their livelihoods taken away and famine was in the land. The Holy Spirit chose the most poverty stricken region, Macedonia, to show forth the importance of sacrificial giving. The people could not be stopped, as they knew giving was right in the eyes of God to see lost souls saved.
