Lord, take not your Holy Spirit from me. Today on the Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the Doctrine of Sin; referencing the time of the Antichrist, when half of Jerusalem will have fallen, and Israel will finally cry out to God. While Psalm 51 is a prayer of David’s for his sin, Brother Swaggart says it is also the prayer of Israel at the Second Coming of Christ, as well as an intercessory prayer of Christ's on our behalf. Because the blood of bulls and goats could not take away sin, the Holy Spirit was not able to live inside the believer before the Cross; however, He was involved in the work of the prophets and others. When we were born again, the Holy Spirit instantly came inside us. We are now the Temple of God with a power source to help us overcome sin. When we are dependent solely on Christ and His finished work, we will see our lives grow more and more into His image. We must seek a greater measure of God with the convicting power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to bring in the great harvest of souls that is yet to come.
