Through David’s lineage the Messiah would be born, despite the awful sins he committed. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the doctrine of sin, through the story of God’s forgiveness of David’s grave sins of adultery and murder. David prayed the prayer of Psalm 51 in humble contrition. This is also an intercessory prayer of Christ for Israel and us. The Lord wants to eliminate sin. Brother Larson says God is not trying to eliminate us, but only the sin that afflicts our Christian walk. The Son of David, Christ, makes David’s and our sin His own. God has already won the war against sin through the blood of Jesus on Calvary’s Cross
