How shall we who are dead to sin live any longer there in? Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss the sin nature, which is made dormant at salvation. Brother Swaggart explains how the sin nature does not leave at this point, and can be revived if our faith moves from the finished work of Christ. All too often, the new Christian will try to live for God by his own willpower. This is when Satan’s deception can creep in. A believer must anchor their faith in the Cross of Christ alone, then victory will come. We need the help of the Holy Spirit who dispenses God’s grace; the Holy Spirit is our power source to see progressive sanctification, i.e. growing in the image of Christ.
