Today on The Message of the Cross Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the gifts of the Spirit and the call of God on the life of a believer and how the baptism of the Holy Spirit affects that call. The panel discusses the role of an Apostle and a Prophet and those who do not have the baptism of the Holy Spirit, addressing the question will their effectiveness be less? Brother Watts says can you function in these two roles without the baptism of the Holy Spirit, yes, but should you, no. The infilling of the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues is part of the equipping that God has given to the New Testament church. This is the anointing God gives to His children to be empowered to take the gospel to the lost.
