God has a moral ethic that can only be kept by placing our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss the law of the Old Covenant and the better Covenant we now have in the New. In the Old Covenant, God wanted to show man his inability to keep the law and the reality of self and pride. Brother Larson reminds us that the law was not given then to save, but was given to set Israel apart from other nations as she had already made a commitment to Jehovah. The law of old, was a temporary measure that typified the New Covenant to come in Christ’s fulfillment of the law with His death at Calvary’s Cross.
