Brother Joseph says if the believer would glean from the scriptures, led by the Holy Spirit, they would be convicted of the truth of the doctrine of the Cross. When Peter told Christ He must not go to the Cross, Jesus said, get thee behind me Satan. Many times, previous teaching, and the powers of darkness will stop or stifle the willingness of an accepting heart. Dr. Watts says Paul confronted the Galatians for their quick turning from Christ’s finished work, we see the same confrontation the Cross brings to believers today who reject its illumination. Many unlearned and ignorant men have touched this world for Christ. When we anchor our faith in the Cross of Christ, He will change our lives and we will grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.
