Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Daniel 8:8, looking at the untimely death of Alexander the Great in 323 B.C. when he was at the apex of his strength. And for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven, this refers to his kingdom being split into four parts upon his death. When Daniel prophesied this, it was nearly two hundred years before Alexander the Great would come into power. This is how much the Lord knows all things; he gave this to Daniel about Alexander the Great, but not referring to him by name. He called him a great horn; and that was correct, he was great by the powers of Satan. All of this pertained to Israel, and her opponents; coming all the way from the Babylonian Empire, the Medes and the Persians, the Grecians, and the Roman’s. After the Roman Empire, there’s nothing said, because in 70 A.D. the Roman Empire destroyed Israel.
