Today on Insight, John and Josh Rosenstern discuss the opening of the long awaited secret Vatican archives. Brother Josh says the opening of Pope Pius the XII records lasted only a week before the coronavirus outbreak shut down the inspection. Brother John says the Vatican is accused of silence during the holocaust, with the Pope never publicly criticizing the Nazi slaughter of Jews, knowing about Hitler’s death campaign early on. Brother John says there are some 1 Million pieces of documents to inspect in the secret library of the archdiocese. As the Vatican may have feared German wrath, the question is raised did the Pope do enough or was he, as some speculate, friend’s with Hitler.
