Tonight at Family Worship Center, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Hebrews 6:4 discussing eternal security. Brother Swaggart says believers need to know that their eternal security is conditional; the condition is, that our faith is maintained exclusively in the finished work of Christ on Calvary’s Cross. The panel discusses the influences of Augustine and Calvinism and the false doctrine of pre-destination. In 2 Peter 2:20, scripture says that man has a free will to accept the finished work of Christ, but can turn from it. Under the false doctrine of once saved always saved, Satan does what he can to deceive the believer, encouraging us to remain in sin, that God is okay with it. Brother Swaggart says we can be sure, God is willing that none should perish. He saves us from sin and self. He died that we may live victoriously, no longer dominated by the sin nature.
