In our failures, God is not looking to ruin us, but to show us mercy when we repent. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Donnie Swaggart and panel begin a study in the Book of Jude teaching on the mercy, peace, and the love of God that is only made possible by the Cross of Jesus Christ. Jude says he is a servant, a bond slave of Jesus Christ, and all believers are bond slaves as well. Mercy comes from grace; God knew from the beginning that He would deal with fallen humanity with grace and mercy. Grace is God’s goodness given to undeserving man, and His mercy is not giving us what we do deserve as sinful mankind. God made a way, through Calvary, that we could know his mercy and grace. God’s compassion is extended to us through the death of His Son on the Cross. Faith in the finished work of Christ is the only answer for the lost. God loves us, despite being undeserving of His free gift, Jesus Christ; because He is merciful, we too are called to be merciful to others. The panel goes on to explain the work of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life through His justifying peace and His sanctifying peace that comes to all who will only believe and contend for the faith.
