Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Daniel 8:20; the ram, which you saw having two horns are the kings of Medo and Persia. This empire defeated the Babylonian Empire where Daniel served for a number of years before his death. In those days, these empires were very powerful, and they worshiped a plethora of gods that were made up out of virtually anything. They controlled the parts of the world that were the most advanced. Rome was to a greater degree than all. Daniel served in the Medo-Persian Empire for quite some time as well. This was the empire in power when Daniel was put in the lion’s den. Verse 21, and the rough goat is the king of Grecia, and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. The great horn is Alexander the Great. It is believed that there was one of the most powerful, fallen angels in the kingdom of darkness that helped Alexander the Great. Alexander the Great was able to overcome army’s two, three, four, and five times the size of his army.
