Today on A Study in The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss Daniel 11:14. And in those times, there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of your people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall. The first phrase refers to Antiochus the Great, and Philip of Macedonia uniting in order to conquer Egypt. He won; however, Rome stepped in and forced him to surrender his conquest. Also the robbers of your people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision, which refers to the Jews who thought by helping Antiochus they would bring about the fulfillment of prophecy and, therefore, the independence of Judah. But the results were, they all perished at the hands of the Egyptians, fulfilling the prophecy, that they shall fall.
