Psychology was introduced as a replacement of scripture for man’s problems. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the history of psychology since the 1700’s, and how today it has infiltrated the church greatly. We are trying to replace the preacher with a counselor. The bible says we are complete in Him. Everything we need to know for Godly living is written in the Word of God. The panel discusses what biblical counseling looks like according to God’s Word. A pastor listens, encourages, and prays with the believer and points them to the bible for their answer. We cannot mix this with ways of the world. Secular therapy techniques and emphasis on everything other than Jesus is wrong. Psychology was created to replace God; it is a Godless system that points to self. We must not heal the hurts of God’s people slightly; this is all man’s ways can do. A victorious Christian's life will line up with the Word of God. Sin will make a life miserable.
