I CANNOT CURSE WHAT GOD HAS BLESSED- Tonight at Family Worship Center Pastor Paris Ragan reads from Numbers 25:1-9. Through this story of Israel’s wanderings and sin, we see Satan’s control and manipulation. Brother Ragan says believers find themselves today in this same situation as we fall victim to sin and self-idolization. The devil calls for Balaam to stop Israel’s blessings; but he prophecies, I cannot curse what God has blessed. Satan hates what God does in us. We are children of God; and just like Israel, we are blessed, and no man can reverse it. Pastor Paris warns us of New Age theology, which promotes a personal divinity. This is worshiping an idol of self. The church needs repentance, just as Israel did. In this story, 24,000 Israelites die because of their sin. Phinehas, with a javelin, speared the Israelite man and Midianite woman, symbolic of turning from the way of God. The plague was stayed because of the faith of Phinehas. Jesus Christ today will stop the plague of sin and suffering. Pick up the javelin, i.e., the message of the cross, and plunge it through the sin in your life.
